While continuing our journey in digital marketing, audience targeting is an important part on which we usually miss out on. We do have a vague idea about who our potential customers are. But how clear picture do you have in your mind about your audience targeting and to achieve it how does one plan their strategy.
Following the below-mentioned methods You can easily get crystal clear ideas of your targeted audience, so let’s dive in and Explore something new.
Marketing is about Good Conversation
How you convert your Audience into paying Customers? the answer is simple, by making them understand what they need and how your service or resources can help them solve their problems.
If You cannot converse well 1:1, you cannot converse 1: Many
Let’s be realistic, If you can’t convince 1 customer then it’s meaningless convincing bunch of people to buy your product or services, hope you know what I mean, in the end, marketing is all about TRUST which your potential Audience will put in you or on your brand.
Think of it like having a conversation with your friend, you always behave friendly and your friend eventually trusts you because he has faith in you as a person and trusts you for the person you are as long as you’re not faking it. And if you come up with some product that eventually solves your friend’s problem in business or other random cases then he might show interest in it and buy it from you because they trust factor has been established in between you two.
Real is Rare!always be authentic, feel proud the way you are !
Many of us have a habit of showing off and creating false images of themselves in front of others. Eventually, after some point, they end up losing their loved one’s trust. That’s what happens if we won’t be true to ourselves. Be authentic and learn to accept the way you’re, your audience will always love to transact with genuine persons who are true to them with clarity, not with some fake people moving around in the market.
No one is Perfect nor me or you! Accept, learn, adapt, implement, and then convey it to your audience with true value and share your experience. If you’re can achieve, then definitely others will look after you as a role model.

Who is Your Audience
“If everyone is your audience, then no one is your audience”–Deepak Kanakaraju
Let’s face it. Not everyone is interested in your product, and why is that? the answer is simple. Different kinds of people are interested in different things, some might like traveling, some might love gardening or someone is just thinking about games all the time. If you promote your product to everyone then no one will respond. That’s why understanding your potential audience is important in the long run.
That’s the reason many top marketers like Mr. Deepak Kanakaraju says to stick to one niche. be specific and define your targeted audience and separate them into a psychographic method. Then you have a better chance to get a response, make your audience defined.
How You Define Your Target Customers
So how you define your Targeted audience and on what bases you target them.
- Age range.
- Parental status.
- Household income.
and many more options are available depending on your niche and market research for your potential customers. After getting your targeting right how will you build quality interaction with them?
- Always write your customer in 1:1 Manner, though you’re writing or broadcasting your email to 1000 people at the same time. Everyone is alone with their device so it gives personalized vibe when you write in 1:1 manner.
- Try to understand your customer’s thoughts, what problem they have, or what are their major concerns. if you know your customer’s issues or problem then there is a high probability that your customer will look forward to you as a problem solver and will be willing to buy your product or services.
- Be simple and informative while having a conversation or writing to your customer, you might have a large vocabulary but don’t make it complicated or difficult for your audience to understand you.
- Try to connect with your customer’s thoughts, your write-up should engage them. If it engages them then your audience is more likely to interact with your content and they will keep on reading your article or post. Try to involve your customers with the same thought they possibly have in their mind.
Why Email and Personalized messages have more impact than social media?
What do you think? why personalized email or messages are more effective than having social media post for your audience? Usually, people tend to assume without any solid evidence to support it, they think that email marketing and broadcasts are dead, but it’s NOT!
I don’t know about you but I love it when someone is giving me priority among 1000 people around and that’s what brings an impact. It makes a person feel important like you are talking to them personally and guiding them to overcome their problems. Having that personal touch is crucial, it helps you to build that essential trust factor among your audience. No matter how big your email list is, you can always have 1:1 conversation with every individual with an email. Even many reputed companies still use emails as their primary contact method. so how can you make your emails or broadcast personalized for every individual?
- Write in the form of a conversation. (use I & YOU method)
- Have a casual conversation like you’re having with your friend.
- Highlight your customer’s problems and give solutions to it.
The above method will help you write personalized emails to your customers, it will also help in your branding. If someone Eventually meets you in person then they will feel that connection, as if they know you for ages.
To achieve it, SURVEY plays an important role as it will give you a brief idea about your potential audience age group, interest, and behavior. With this generic data to support your thoughts, you will come one step close to achieving your goals.
How to Build Your Customer Avatar
I did mention something in the above writeups, have you noticed it? tell me. What is the best way to collect data online? Yes, it’s a SURVEY.
Surveys help you a lot when you’re doing your audience research, it helps you to see actual results shared by every individual. Their age, interests, and much other useful information which you won’t find anywhere else, though sometimes sharing simple URLs in your niche facebook group helps. But if you are looking for accurate quantity-wise data then paid ads might help you.
Indeed, people are not always willing to share their data like an email address with you so here is a catch “offer free ebook or checklist which is more suitable for your niche and people cannot resist it” this is another way and it will help you to get precise data of your audience and in future you can be more sure and accurate about your audience.
